NAFA vs Hevy

Hevy is a training log: it records sets, reps, and load, and it does that cleanly. NAFA records the same things, then reads them against your food, sleep, and body measurements and tells you what the combination means for today.

Hevy is a genuinely good log. The logging flow is fast, the history is clear, and if the gym is the only thing you want to track it is hard to fault.

A training log answers what you did. The harder question is what you should do next, and that depends on things the log never sees. A stalled bench is a programming problem if you are recovered and eating enough, and a recovery or intake problem if you are not. The log cannot distinguish those, because from inside the log both look identical: a number that stopped moving.

NAFA keeps per-exercise history and progressive overload the same way a dedicated log does, then puts the sleep debt and the protein gap next to it. When a lift flattens, the recommendation names which of those is the most likely cause and what would have to change for the call to flip.

The coach also follows up. If you held bench at 60×8 last week, NAFA remembers today and checks in tomorrow — the thing a log cannot do, because a log is a record rather than a participant.

Which to pick

Hevy. Pick Hevy if the gym is the only thing you want to track and you would rather have one very good log than a broader tool.

NAFA. Pick NAFA if your training is stalling and you cannot tell from the log alone whether the problem is the programme, the food, or the sleep.
